Horse Riding

The Fylde and Sefton coasts are both highly valued for recreation and the importance of their natural habitats.  The beaches are popular for horse riding but as there are different activities taking place beach management plans and guidelines for horse riding on the Sefton coast and Fylde coast have been produced to assist safe and enjoyable use for everyone.

Horses (and dogs) are not permitted in the designated bathing areas at Ainsdale Beach and Southport Beach.  Sefton Council is currently developing a permit system for horse riding on its beaches.
