Wildlife Watch Groups

Wildlife Watch is a nationwide club for children and young teenagers interested in wildlife and conservation.

Whether going on wildlife "safaris", pond - dipping, creating gardens for wildlife or enjoying picnics and baked potatoes, Wildlife Watch members get a lot of fun out of learning about the environment. They also receive a full colour magazine "Watchword", a colour poster and a local newsletter.

There are several Wildlife Watch Groups in the Ribble Coast & Wetlands area. They can be found at:

Longton Brickcroft
Serves the Longton, Hutton and Penwortham area.

Mere Sands Wood
Based at the flagship nature reserve, serving the Rufford and Holmeswood areas of West Lancashire.

Natterjack Club
Meets at Ainsdale Discovery Centre and serves the Formby area of Sefton.

Blackpool Local Group

Meets at Frank Townend Centre, Beach Road, Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, FY5 3SZ on the second Friday of each month from September to June (starting at 7.30 pm). Field trips are also held in the same months.

A small charge is payable with reduced rates for juniors and members.

Southport Local Group

Indoor meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of the month, from September to May at Lord Street West Church Hall, Duke Street, Southport, PR8 2FP (starting at 7.45 pm). Field outdoor meetings are held every month on the last Sunday. Some evenings walks, Spring and Summer. Everybody is welcome.

A small charge is payable with reduced rates for juniors and members.
