The Ribble Coast and Wetlands is a place of contrasting landscapes, which each day present something different to inspire you to explore.

On the coast, low tides can make the sea completely disappear from view leaving long, flat, sandy beaches (that give rise to rolling sand dunes), salt marshes and muflats.  Certain high tides however, can completely cover all but the sand dunes, bringing the seascape surprisingly much further inland.

Farmland around the Ribble Estuary is scattered with pockets of woodlands, wetland meadows, heaths and lakes providing havens for birds and other wildlife.
