Southport Pier

Southport Pier

A popular attraction, the Pier is newly restored and is a historic landmark within the resort. Originally built in 1860 one of the longest piers in the country, stretching from the promenade, over the seafront and out to sea. Walk or ride the tram to the end of the Pier, where an observation platform looks out onto the estuary. The Pier Pavilion houses a display illustrating the local natural environment and history of the Pier, refreshment facility and toilets. The pier is accessible from the promenade and Marine Drive. Free admission.
